Mobile videogames have been the great breakthrough of the industry in the last 10 years. Although the trend of smartphone gamers has been maintained in all countries, China shows record figures compared to others.

China and mobile video games
According to recent estimates, there are more than 620 million active gamers in China. Among these, 75% (460 million) follow their favorite titles through their mobile screen. Among the main reasons we find:
- Restrictions to play titles from consoles or popular stores.
- A culture of social interaction different from the western one.
- A population larger than any other country, on par with a booming economy
In the first case, it is important to remember that Google Play, App Store and many others (such as PlayStation Store) have great content distribution restrictions. The Google Store, for example, is not even available on Android phones.
To compensate for this, there are hundreds and hundreds of alternative stores such as 360 Mobile Assistant or Myapp. Games, in this sense, are the most popular apps in all of these. This is due, in part, to the culture of social interaction in this and other Asian countries, where the virtual plane has almost completely displaced the physical one.
Titles in multiplayer mode MMO’s or MOBA style are the most downloaded, as is the case of Arena of Valor (the most famous game in the region, according to several studies). The experience of playing online from the cell phone compensates in great measure the social isolation that many gamers experience in their day to day.
Finally, we must not forget that China has about 1,400 million inhabitants. It is also the second largest economy in the world.
